Currently, Canteen is hiring for a full-time Night Cook position located at the UPS Air Hub at 3300 Airport Drive in Rockford, Illinois. This role presents an exciting opportunity for candidates with a passion for food preparation and customer service, looking to join a dynamic team in a reputable company. The position offers a full-time schedule, primarily Sunday through Thursday, with hours that may vary and details provided upon interview. The pay range for this role is competitive, between $16.00 and $18.50 per hour, with the added possibility of an internal employee referral bonus.

The Night Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring that food service is consistent, timely, and meets all safety and quality regulations. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow standardized instructions, and a commitment to food safety and cleanliness. Duties include serving meals, maintaining accurate records during service periods, and ensuring that all kitchen and storage areas are kept clean and orderly. The Night Cook will also assist in inventory management, production planning, and reporting, highlighting the role's involvement beyond cooking to overall kitchen operations. Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service or customer service preferred
  • Ability to work full-time including night shifts
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and hygiene
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
  • Reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents immediately
