Job Description
Marriott International is a global leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences through a diverse portfolio of hotel brands. Courtyard, one of these distinguished brands, focuses on meeting the dynamic needs of business travelers by offering innovative services and comfortable accommodations designed to enhance productivity and relaxation during their stay. Situated in Seattle, Washington, at 925 Westlake Ave N, the Courtyard hotel exemplifies Marriott's commitment to quality service and guest satisfaction. This establishment operates in a bustling urban environment where guests expect efficient, professional, and welcoming service, making it an ideal workplace for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest relations.
This full-time, non-management position offers a competitive hourly wage of $27.76 and plays a critical role in the seamless operation of the hotel's front desk and financial activities. The role's primary responsibility involves completing end-of-day tasks essential to the hotel's accounting and guest service functions. Responsibilities include posting charges to guest accounts accurately, processing various payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit cards, and managing adjustment vouchers and correction entries. Night audit duties like backing up audits and rolling the date are integral to maintaining the financial integrity of daily operations.
Additionally, this role involves selling available rooms to guests without prior reservations, operating the telephone switchboard to handle wake-up calls and guest messages, and completing the Room Rate Variance Report to ensure pricing accuracy. The position demands attention to detail, as the individual must count and secure the bank at the end of shifts and balance receipts in line with accounting specifications. Maintaining an organized and presentable work environment is also essential, which includes stocking necessary materials and inspecting cleanliness.
Beyond administrative tasks, the role emphasizes customer service excellence. Employees are expected to welcome guests warmly, anticipate and address their needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and foster a professional atmosphere through clear communication and proper etiquette. The ability to build positive working relationships and support team goals reflects the collaborative culture Marriott promotes.
Physically, the role requires the capacity to perform tasks involving standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Adhering to company policies regarding safety, appearance, and confidentiality is mandatory. The Courtyard by Marriott fosters an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and commits to equal employment opportunities for all, reinforcing its global reputation as an employer of choice.
Joining this team means benefiting from a comprehensive package including 401(k) plans, stock purchase options, healthcare coverage, paid parental leave, educational assistance, and various discounts relevant to employees. Seattle-based full-time employees additionally accrue paid sick leave and holiday pay, ensuring a balanced work-life experience. This position represents a fantastic opportunity for motivated individuals seeking to build or advance their careers in the hotel and hospitality sectors while working with one of the most respected names in the industry.
