As a leading hotel operator, Marriott offers a diverse portfolio of brands that cater to various types of travelers and preferences. Among these is Residence Inn by Marriott, a brand dedicated to providing guests with spacious suites featuring full kitchens, ideal for long stays where comfort and convenience are paramount. Located in Oxon Hill, Maryland, the Residence Inn is positioned to serve business and leisure travelers with the hallmark Marriott standard of service, ensuring every guest feels valued and well cared for during their stay.
The role available at this location is a full-time, non-management position within the Finance and Accounting category. It offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $23.75 to $27.70. The job is headquartered on-site at 192 Waterfront St, Oxon Hill, and does not offer remote working options. This position plays a pivotal part in the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel, focusing primarily on the financial auditing and accounting processes that support smooth hotel functioning.
The individual selected for this role will be responsible for executing comprehensive end-of-day tasks that ensure accurate posting of guest charges and payments across various payment methods, including cash, checks, debit, and credit. These duties are essential to the hotel's financial integrity and operational effectiveness. Responsibilities encompass running night audit backups, rolling over the business date, and generating various reports like the Room Rate Variance Report. The role also involves managing guest transactions such as check-ins and room assignments, issuing electronic key cards, and handling contingency planning by printing guest lists for emergencies.
Operational tasks extend to processing adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges, which require attention to detail and a methodical approach to maintain financial accuracy. Additionally, the position requires interaction with guests via telephone, managing wake-up call requests, and message delivery while maintaining professional communication standards.
Safety and compliance are integral to this role, with duties including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management, adhering to all company policies, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information, and ensuring a professional appearance at all times. The role demands physical capabilities such as lifting objects up to 25 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and performing a variety of movements including bending, twisting, and stooping.
Working at Residence Inn by Marriott offers opportunities for associative growth, teamwork, and contribution within a diverse workplace culture that celebrates individuality and inclusion. Marriott International is dedicated to equal opportunity employment and fosters an environment that respects all associates, regardless of background. This position is ideal for candidates with a high school diploma or GED equivalent and less than one year of related work experience, looking to start or advance their career in finance within the hospitality sector.
