Job Description

Homewood Suites - Ridgeland is a modern, newly built hotel that forms part of the MMI Hotel Group, a company with over 70 years of experience rooted in southern hospitality. Known for its inclusive and diverse work environment, MMI Hotel Group prides itself on fostering a culture where team members can genuinely be themselves while contributing to a welcoming and high-quality guest experience. Homewood Suites - Ridgeland offers guests extended-stay accommodations designed with comfort and convenience in mind, making it a preferred choice for travelers seeking a home-like atmosphere while on the road. As a part of this reputable hotel group, the property embodies the tradition of exceptional customer service, a strong operational backbone, and a commitment to employee growth and satisfaction.

The Night Auditor role at Homewood Suites - Ridgeland presents an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in a nocturnal work setting and have an affinity for numbers and accounting processes. The Night Auditor is vital in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the hotel’s financial records by verifying and balancing the entries and transactions reported across various departments throughout the day. This position requires proficiency in bookkeeping and the use of adding and calculating machines to reconcile daily cash receipts and summary sheets from all hotel departments. Beyond the accounting duties, the Night Auditor occasionally supports front desk operations, welcoming guests, handling check-ins and check-outs, and assisting with inquiries to provide excellent guest service.

Candidates for this position should have a background in general business, accounting, or vocational office training, coupled with at least three months of experience in bookkeeping, auditing, or general accounting duties. A fundamental understanding of accounting principles, including reconciling accounts receivable and ensuring accuracy in guest folio charges, is indispensable. The role demands versatility, as the Night Auditor may be called upon to serve as the Supervisor on Duty, managing front office operations during the absence of the Front Office Manager. This supervisory responsibility underscores the need for strong leadership skills, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Homewood Suites - Ridgeland and the larger MMI Hotel Group are committed to equal opportunity employment, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds including minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities. The company also participates in E-Verify, underscoring its dedication to lawful and fair hiring practices. Working as a Night Auditor in this environment means joining a team that values your contribution, nurtures your professional development, and supports a work-life balance that respects your individual needs. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to develop accounting and customer service skills within the hospitality industry, in a setting that appreciates dedication, attention to detail, and a passion for guest satisfaction.
