The Night Auditor role at Hyatt Place Fort Worth Historic Stockyards is a critical overnight position responsible for maintaining accurate financial and operational continuity during overnight hours. This position plays a pivotal role in balancing daily financial transactions, completing the night audit process with precision, and generating important reports to prepare the hotel for the next day's operations. The Night Auditor also serves as the primary overnight guest service representative, offering attentive and professional assistance while embodying the authentic hospitality for which Hyatt Place is known.

This role demands exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently during overnight shifts. The Night Auditor is tasked with reconciling room charges, taxes, cash receipts, and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy across all guest folios and correcting discrepancies in accordance with established procedures. Additionally, this position facilitates smooth guest interactions during the late hours by assisting with check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and promptly addressing guest inquiries or concerns with tact and professionalism.

The successful candidate will anticipate guest needs and contribute to a calm, safe, and professional overnight environment. They will also be required to maintain the front desk and lobby areas in an organized and professional manner, safeguard guest privacy and hotel information, and promptly communicate any maintenance, safety, or security issues to the appropriate leadership or departments. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience or willingness to learn night auditing procedures
  • Ability to handle financial transactions accurately
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment
  • Ability to maintain guest confidentiality and privacy
  • Physical ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs with assistance
  • Comfortable working in a 24/7 guest-facing environment

  • Previous hotel night audit, front desk, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Hyatt Place property management systems
  • Basic accounting or cash-handling experience
  • Knowledge of local area, attractions, dining, and services to enhance guest recommendations

Job Duties

  • Accurately complete the nightly audit process, ensuring all daily transactions are balanced and properly posted
  • Reconcile room charges, taxes, cash receipts, credit card transactions, and miscellaneous postings
  • Audit front desk and outlet cashier work and correct discrepancies in accordance with hotel procedures
  • Verify room rates, package postings, and incidental charges to ensure accuracy across all guest folios
  • Run end-of-day programs and officially close the business day in the property management system
  • Generate and distribute daily flash reports, night audit reports, and morning financial reports to leadership, finance, and housekeeping as required
  • Provide professional, courteous overnight guest service, including check-ins, check-outs, reservations assistance, and guest inquiries
  • Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns calmly and effectively, escalating issues to leadership when appropriate
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for guests regarding hotel amenities, services, and local Fort Worth Stockyards attractions during overnight hours
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or suspicious activity to on-call leadership or appropriate departments
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby area throughout the shift
  • Safeguard guest privacy and confidentiality while ensuring the security of all guest and hotel information
  • Support a calm, professional overnight environment while operating independently with sound judgment
  • All other duties as assigned
