Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a dynamic work environment. As a prestigious hotel management company, Marriott International operates a broad portfolio of distinguished brands, including Courtyard by Marriott. Courtyard is uniquely designed to cater to the needs of business travelers, offering functional spaces, modern amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere that enhances productivity and comfort during travel. Courtyard stands out by continuously innovating within the hospitality sector to meet evolving traveler expectations, blending professional service with approachable warmth. This creates a rewarding experience for both guests and employees alike.
The role being described here is a vital position within Marriott International’s Courtyard hotel team, focusing primarily on financial accuracy and adherence to company policies. This position demands meticulous attention to detail as it involves checking financial figures, postings, and various documents for accuracy, ensuring all financial data is correctly recorded, stored, and analyzed. The role plays a crucial part in managing and securing cash and cash equivalents in accordance with established cash handling policies and procedures. Furthermore, handling and maintaining all organizational files and records align with the company's document retention and confidentiality standards. The position also includes preparing, maintaining, and distributing numerous statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables, along with auditing and reconciling all revenue postings.
In addition to the core financial responsibilities, the role requires strict compliance with all company safety and security policies, including reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to managers. Personnel in this role must remain vigilant about potential security threats and uphold Marriott's high standards for confidentiality and data protection. Guest interaction is also a key element, with expectations to welcome and acknowledge guests appropriately, anticipate and address their service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and maintain professional communication both in person and via telephone.
The position emphasizes teamwork and positive workplace relationships, encouraging support among colleagues and attentiveness to their concerns to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment. Compliance with quality assurance standards ensures all duties are performed to the highest operational standards. Physical demands of the job are minimal but may involve moving items weighing up to 10 pounds.
Preferred qualifications for this entry-level position include a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, with no prior related work or supervisory experience required, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals new to the workforce or transitioning into the hospitality finance sector. Marriott International values diversity and inclusivity highly and commits to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable laws.
Joining Courtyard not only means contributing to a respected global brand but also engaging in an environment focused on personal growth, meaningful work, and shared success. Marriott International encourages all associates to aspire, belong, and become their best selves in a supportive and inspiring workplace.
