Job Description
Mid-Continent Hospitality is a reputable organization in the hotel industry, known for upholding high standards of guest service and operational excellence. As a company dedicated to providing a welcoming and efficient experience for all patrons, Mid-Continent Hospitality operates hotels that emphasize comfort, safety, and professionalism. The company fosters a workplace culture that values integrity, teamwork, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction. With a focus on continuous improvement and adherence to brand standards, Mid-Continent Hospitality employs professionals who are passionate about hospitality and dedicated to upholding the company's esteemed reputation.
The role of Night Auditor at Mid-Continent Hospitality is a critical position that combines accounting, customer service, and front desk management during the overnight shift, typically from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completion of all daily auditing processes related to the hotel’s financial transactions and guest accounts. The Night Auditor serves as the overnight front desk representative, managing reservations, registering guests, and responding to guest requests with a warm and service-oriented demeanor. The position requires a high level of attention to detail for balancing transactions including movie revenue, telephone postings, valet, laundry, and other front office paperwork. This role also involves running audits and reports, particularly for food and beverage departments, to maintain operational integrity. The Night Auditor must follow Mid-Continent Hospitality's standards and safety procedures to promote a secure environment for guests and staff throughout the night.
Key responsibilities include initiating and completing the end-of-day audit process, maintaining cashiering functions according to company policies, and handling guest inquiries and requests promptly and courteously. The Night Auditor also communicates with other hotel departments such as security to ensure coordinated operational efforts during the overnight shift. Problem-solving skills are essential for effectively managing emergency situations and guest issues that may arise during nighttime hours. This position requires a thorough understanding of front office computer systems and the ability to maintain proper record-keeping, including log books and daily flash reports. Employees in this role contribute to maintaining brand standards by adhering to grooming and uniform policies and modeling professional conduct at all times.
The Night Auditor position is ideal for candidates who possess prior experience in hotel operations or related fields and are capable of working independently during overnight hours. The role demands proficiency in various computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, as well as the ability to assimilate complex information from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and efficiency in reporting. It is a dynamic position that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to remain composed under pressure. Working in this role, individuals will gain valuable experience in hospitality operations, accounting procedures, and customer service excellence, making it a vital part of Mid-Continent Hospitality's commitment to outstanding guest experiences.
