Job Description
Courtyard by Marriott Greensboro is part of Marriott International, a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry. With a commitment to exceptional service and innovative guest experiences, Courtyard by Marriott has built a reputation as a preferred choice for business travelers and vacationers alike. Located at 4400 W Wendover Ave, Greensboro, North Carolina, this full-service hotel offers modern amenities and a welcoming atmosphere, catering to the diverse needs of its clientele. Marriott International is known for fostering an inclusive culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion and actively promotes career growth and development for its associates.
This position is a full-time overnight shift role within the Finance & Accounting category at the Courtyard by Marriott Greensboro. The role primarily involves executing the night audit responsibilities, a crucial function ensuring accurate daily financial accounting and guest service operations. This includes completing end-of-day activities such as posting charges to guest accounts, running audit backups, and managing the date roll over system. The incumbent will also be responsible for processing various payment methods including room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit cards, ensuring seamless financial transactions and accurate record keeping.
The role demands meticulous attention to detail and involves multiple operational tasks such as processing adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges. It also encompasses critical guest service functions like selling rooms to walk-in guests based on availability, managing telephone switchboard operations for guest requests and wake-up calls, and handling message communication efficiently. Additionally, the position includes generating the Room Rate Variance Report and managing guest check-ins and room assignments.
Operational security is of paramount importance; the employee will activate or reissue room keys using electronic key machines, count and secure banks at shift end, and balance and deposit receipts according to the accounting specifications. Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area to support smooth operations is also part of the job.
This role requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, professionalism in uniform and appearance, protection of company assets, and maintenance of confidentiality for proprietary information. The employee will interact warmly and professionally with guests, addressing their needs including assistance for individuals with disabilities, and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Physical demands include the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less, and the flexibility to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. The employee must also be capable of performing tasks that involve reaching overhead and bending or stooping as required.
This position does not require supervisory experience and prefers candidates with a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Despite the less than one year of related work experience preferred, the role is fundamental to the daily operational success of the hotel and provides an excellent opportunity for growth within Marriott's dynamic and supportive environment.
Joining Courtyard by Marriott Greensboro means becoming part of a passionate team dedicated to enhancing the traveler’s experience. Marriott International ensures a workplace that welcomes all, values the unique backgrounds of associates, and champions equal opportunity employment without discrimination. At Courtyard, employees are encouraged to do their best work, begin their purpose, belong to a global team, and become the best version of themselves.
