Job Description
This position is with a reputable hotel establishment seeking a motivated Part Time Night Auditor to join their team. The hotel is dedicated to providing exceptional guest service and maintaining smooth front desk and accounting operations during overnight hours. Known for its commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction, the hotel offers a dynamic work environment where employees are valued for their skills and customer service orientation. While previous hotel experience is preferred, the hotel provides training for the right candidate, primarily in the use of the Opera Reservation System, ensuring that team members are well-equipped to perform their duties effectively.
The Part Time Night Auditor position is critical within the hotel's operation as this role spans overnight hours from 10 PM to 6 AM. The individual must be available for night audit shifts and show flexibility to work alternate shifts as needed. The position reports directly to the Front Office Supervisor and Manager, emphasizing its importance in supporting front desk activities and accounting balances at the end of each day. The night auditor acts as the primary point of contact for guests during late-night hours, performing essential front desk services such as check-ins and addressing guest inquiries, requests, and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
Additionally, the role involves completing vital end-of-day audit responsibilities, which include balancing reports from day shifts, running computer functions to close out the day, and preparing accurate guest bills for checkouts. The night auditor also ensures the lobby market and sundry areas are well-stocked and maintains inventory tasks at month-end. Cash drawer balancing and receipt recording are also integral parts of the role, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency.
This role requires strong technical service skills, including the ability to navigate computer systems, perform internet searches, and utilize hotel-specific reservation software. Candidates should also have point of sale knowledge related to hotel room types, rates, packages, and services, enabling them to offer suitable accommodations to guests. A good understanding of the reservation process and the ability to deliver high-standard customer service are essential. Although a bartender certificate is listed among the key skills and requirements, it underlines the diverse nature of duties that help support overall hotel operations.
Overall, this part time, overnight position offers a great opportunity for individuals seeking to work in hospitality, particularly those with interest or experience in hotel front desk operations and auditing. The role blends customer service with administrative accuracy in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting. Availability to work nights and alternate shifts is mandatory, aligning with the hotel's goal of providing seamless service 24/7 throughout the premises.
