Job Description

Dam Neck is a reputable organization located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, operating within the food service industry. Known for its dedicated service and commitment to quality, Dam Neck operates various food service locations throughout local installations, including mobile food truck operations. This company focuses on delivering convenient and high-quality food options to customers, maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness. Dam Neck values employee training, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency, making it a respected name in the community and a great place to build a career in food services.

The role available is a full-time supervisory position primarily responsible for overseeing and coordinating multiple food service operations across different local installation sites. The position predominantly supervises associates in grades ranging from NA-2 to NA-5 who perform duties on a mobile food truck. The pay rate starts at $25.49 per hour and is based on experience, making it a competitive offer for qualified candidates committed to food service excellence.

As a supervisor, the successful candidate will be tasked with managing the daily activities of food service employees, ensuring smooth and efficient food service delivery. This includes scheduling work, training staff in operational procedures, maintaining equipment and supplies, and guaranteeing compliance with established standards and policies. Supervisory duties also involve handling customer service standards meticulously, ensuring that food presentation and service meet Dam Neck's high standards. The role demands strong managerial skills and the ability to work under general supervision but requires initiative to solve operational problems and maintain continuity during the supervisor's absence.

Employees in this role frequently engage in physically demanding tasks such as lifting utensils or containers of food weighing up to 45 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and working in various conditions that may be warm, cold, or noisy. Attention to safety is critical, as the work environment exposes employees to minor injuries like cuts, bruises, burns, or slippery floors. Hence, a valid driver's license or commercial driver’s license (CDL) is necessary for this position along with the knowledge to operate a motor vehicle safely.

This position also requires the candidate to obtain and maintain a Food Certificate, demonstrating knowledge of proper food handling and safety practices. A minimum of twelve months experience in cafeteria or counter-type food service duties is essential; these duties include preparing simple sandwiches, salads, coffee, and maintaining clean food service counters and equipment. There is an educational substitution policy where one year of high school education can replace three months of work experience, up to a maximum of a high school diploma or GED equivalency for twelve months of experience.

Overall, the supervisor is integral in maintaining operational efficiency, team performance, and customer satisfaction across all mobile food truck services under the Dam Neck organization. This role offers a steady, full-time schedule with opportunities to develop supervisory skills in a dynamic food service environment.
