Job Description

Newport Aquarium is a renowned public aquarium located in Newport, Kentucky, known for its diverse aquatic exhibits and commitment to marine education and conservation. This position requires an individual who can uphold Newport Aquarium's core values—including exceeding guest expectations, serving others, fostering emotional connections, and continuous improvement—while providing world-class service to visitors. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, accurately preparing and dispensing beverages, and maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the bar area.

The role requires strong customer service skills, attentiveness to guest needs, and the ability to operate efficiently during high-volume events. You will be expected to work closely with the Events Management Team, responding to directions and contributing to smooth event operations. Recognizing signs of intoxication and maintaining a safe environment are critical components of the role, ensuring that guests enjoy their visit responsibly. Furthermore, handling cash transactions accurately and managing inventory controls are essential duties that support the financial integrity of event operations.

Newport Aquarium provides part-time team members with several attractive perks, including unlimited access to the aquarium, discounts on food, beverages, merchandise, and candy from the Sweet Dreams Candy Company. The organization supports ongoing education through the Grow U program sponsored by Herschend Family Entertainment, offering fully funded certifications and degrees ranging from college prep to bachelor’s level. Working as a bartender at Newport Aquarium not only enhances your guest service skills but also provides an opportunity to be part of a mission-driven company focused on bringing families together and creating lasting memories.

This career opportunity encourages candidates who enjoy engaging with people, thrive in fast-paced environments, and appreciate the flexibility of an on-demand schedule.
