Job Description

Pediatrix Medical Group is a leading national provider specializing in healthcare services for women, babies, and children. Established in 1979, Pediatrix has evolved from a single neonatology practice into a comprehensive multispecialty medical group dedicated to delivering coordinated, compassionate, and clinically excellent care. The organization operates in both hospital settings and office-based environments, offering a broad continuum of care bolstered by investments in research, education, quality improvement, and safety initiatives. With a commitment to evidence-based practices and a deeply rooted patient-first philosophy, Pediatrix stands out as a trusted leader in pediatric healthcare across the United States.

This role is based at Mount Sinai Medical Center, a reputable and well-established hospital recognized for its outstanding healthcare services and commitment to community wellness. As a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician, you will play a crucial role in early detection of hearing loss among newborns, a vital step in supporting their developmental milestones and overall quality of life. This on-site position involves conducting hearing screenings shortly after birth to ensure timely intervention when necessary. You will be responsible for screening newborns on-site at one or more hospital locations, offering families vital information about the hearing screening process and emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and intervention.

The position offers comprehensive on-the-job training, including annual certification accredited by the American Academy of Audiology, ensuring you develop and maintain the expertise required to perform your duties effectively. Working as part of the Pediatrix team, you will gain experience in a supportive healthcare environment dedicated to nurturing both patients and employees. Your role will be instrumental in educating parents on hearing health, performing accurate and timely screenings, and contributing to the hospital's goal of improving newborn health outcomes. Through meticulous documentation, efficient workflow, and compassionate patient care, you will help facilitate a positive screening experience for families, strengthening the hospital's reputation for excellence in newborn care.

Candidates interested in this position should be ready to work flexible hours, including weekends and national holidays, to meet the needs of the hospital and its patients. This role requires physical stamina for frequent standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving moderate weights. Demonstrating sensitivity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential to succeeding in this role.

Joining Pediatrix means becoming part of a company that values its employees and their families. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, 401k, and employee stock purchase programs, among others. The organization supports a healthy work-life balance and career development opportunities for its staff, making it an excellent place for individuals seeking to make a meaningful impact on children's health while growing professionally.
