The role offered is that of an Assistant Team Leader in Whole Foods Market’s retail division, focusing on daily operational excellence and team leadership. This position supports the Team Leader by overseeing key functional areas such as profitability, expense management, purchasing, merchandising, labor control, regulatory compliance, and special projects. The Assistant Team Leader plays a crucial role in driving sales and operational targets while fostering a positive and high-performance work environment. Job Requirements

  • 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • performs bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • working in temperature ranges from below freezing to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
  • ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery

Job Duties

  • Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising
  • works with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets

  • assists Team Leader with ordering and inventory management
  • works with Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues
