The role currently available is a leadership position within the Prepared Foods department focused on scheduling and supervision of team members to ensure the smooth operation and high standards of excellence in customer service and retail execution. As a key member of the Prepared Foods leadership team, this position involves overseeing prepared foods, coffee, and juice displays to maintain compelling and attractive presentations that meet company standards. The position supports the Prepared Foods Team Leader and Associate Team Leader by delegating tasks, assisting with training, and fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential to coordinate daily activities, ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations, and maintain outstanding customer experiences. This role requires consistent communication of the company’s vision, goals, and operational standards while encouraging team morale and retention through effective mentorship and performance management.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
- proficiency in hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- tolerance for working in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- able to work in wet and dry conditions
- flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to safely use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require ladder use

- Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies
- strong organizational and time management skills

- ability to teach others in a positive and constructive manner
- product knowledge
- advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
- proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory
- demonstrated decision-making ability and leadership skills
- proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
- 12+ months retail experience
Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members
- works with Prepared Foods Trainer to train Team Members and build a high-performance team
- assists in training new Team Members using learning checklists and training materials
- keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated
- opens and closes the department according to established procedures
- ensures all necessary breaks are given
- communicates team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader
- sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution
- fosters a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and morale
- maintains awareness of customer flows and directs Team Members to satisfy and delight customers
- selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover
- provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations
- consistently communicates and models Whole Foods Market vision and goals
