The role offered is within the Bakery team, where the successful candidate will be responsible for performing all functions related to the preparation, counter service, and stocking of bakery products. The position involves producing quality breads, pastries, doughs, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, and bars. The baker will decorate and finish cakes and pies to meet the highest standards. In addition to routine baking tasks, this role requires active engagement with customers, helping to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service at all times, reflecting the positive company image Whole Foods Market upholds. The candidate will also be expected to develop new recipes and production techniques to maintain seasonal variety and high productivity and to train other production personnel to ensure consistent quality. Production planning and forecasting for special events and holidays is a key responsibility, as is maintaining accurate records in the Datapax system.
This position requires adherence to established health, safety, and sanitation regulations, ensuring a clean and safe working environment, and following company standards for equipment maintenance and product merchandising. The baker must be punctual, properly groomed, and demonstrate a passion for baking and natural foods, working effectively alongside team members to meet customer expectations. The job involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and using various kitchen tools and equipment. The work schedule may include flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
