Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous retail or bakery experience is an asset
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weights
- Must be able to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products matching correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers
- Use all bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
- Follow food temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
- Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Locate products throughout the store when requested by customers
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department to respond to questions and make suggestions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions and note discrepancies
- Ensure proper temperatures in display cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
- Display a positive attitude
- Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report repair needs
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
- Report safety risks or illegal activities including robbery, theft, or fraud
