Fairview Hospital’s Parkview Terrace is a specialized 36-bed unit focusing on complex medical care, stroke care, and epilepsy monitoring. This unit thrives on teamwork, communication, and collaboration to ensure the highest quality of patient care. The role of an RN Resident on the Parkview Terrace unit is integral to this mission. An RN Resident will assist their team in delivering exceptional care that spans from the patient's initial introduction to their final discharge. This bedside role involves direct interaction with patients, families, and visitors, providing an opportunity to not only administer care but also enhance the overall patient experience through effective communication and health education.

As an RN Resident, candidates will benefit from a comprehensive one-year accredited Nurse Residency program designed to support professional growth. This program includes nine tailored tracks, online learning modules, simulation labs, and hands-on clinical training. It is built to equip new nurses with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the demanding environment of inpatient care. The RN Resident schedule is primarily overnight from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with required weekend and holiday shifts. The role also encompasses participation in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs, direct nursing care in partnership with success coaches, and the ability to prioritize patient care based on acuity, preferences, and available resources. The resident nurse is trained to respond to patient health risks proactively and must seek appropriate supervision when necessary to ensure patient safety and high-quality care. Documentation of patient care activities in medical records is a critical part of this role.
