Job Description

Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is a renowned healthcare facility recognized for its commitment to excellence in patient care and nursing practice. As a proud Magnet Hospital awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Fairview Hospital embodies the highest standards of professional nursing. This prestigious recognition reflects the hospital's dedication to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for nursing professionals while delivering world-class medical services. Situated within one of the top healthcare organizations in the nation, Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital offers a dynamic, patient-centered environment that prioritizes innovation, quality, and compassionate care.

Fairview Hospital’s Parkview Terrace is a specialized 36-bed unit focusing on complex medical care, stroke care, and epilepsy monitoring. This unit thrives on teamwork, communication, and collaboration to ensure the highest quality of patient care. The role of an RN Resident on the Parkview Terrace unit is integral to this mission. An RN Resident will assist their team in delivering exceptional care that spans from the patient's initial introduction to their final discharge. This bedside role involves direct interaction with patients, families, and visitors, providing an opportunity to not only administer care but also enhance the overall patient experience through effective communication and health education.

As an RN Resident, candidates will benefit from a comprehensive one-year accredited Nurse Residency program designed to support professional growth. This program includes nine tailored tracks, online learning modules, simulation labs, and hands-on clinical training. It is built to equip new nurses with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the demanding environment of inpatient care. Additionally, this position offers access to progressive benefits including an RN Loan Repayment program to assist with student debt, a Tuition Reimbursement program to encourage ongoing education, and potential relocation assistance for those joining the team from other locations.

The RN Resident schedule is primarily overnight from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with required weekend and holiday shifts. The role also encompasses participation in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs, direct nursing care in partnership with success coaches, and the ability to prioritize patient care based on acuity, preferences, and available resources. The resident nurse is trained to respond to patient health risks proactively and must seek appropriate supervision when necessary to ensure patient safety and high-quality care. Documentation of patient care activities in medical records is a critical part of this role.

Fairview Hospital emphasizes physical capability and safety in nursing practice, expecting candidates to handle patient lifting, endure extended periods of standing and walking, and maintain corrected vision and hearing. The job involves exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids, requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours, and demands physical exertion beyond light work. Compliance with Standard Precautions and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory for safety.

Compensation for this role is competitive, with an hourly pay range from $35.50 to $55.60, reflecting the candidate’s experience, skills, and education. The hospital's benefits package extends beyond salary to include healthcare, dental, vision coverage, and retirement savings contributions, ensuring a comprehensive support system for caregivers committed to patient wellness and their own professional development.
