The position being offered is for a Line Cook / BBQ Pitmaster. As a Line Cook / BBQ Pitmaster, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to recipe specifications, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. The role necessitates versatility as you will be expected to assist in various cooking venues and technical areas, including catering orders when needed. Mastery of recipe preparation and production planning to account for raw material variations and customer demand is key to success in this role. You'll execute high-volume production activities and have a comprehensive understanding of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods, enabling you to deliver exceptional food products consistently.

Your responsibilities will include prepping ingredients by cutting, slicing, chopping, and dicing food items to meet recipe requirements. You will also prepackage condiments such as sauces and dressings to enhance prepared food items and maintain cleanliness and sanitation in food preparation areas. Handling and maintaining equipment safely and effectively is crucial, and you will work as part of a team to ensure a productive and safe kitchen environment. Providing superior customer service through a sense of urgency related to accuracy, speed, and freshness is an essential component, as is assisting guests when required.

This role demands a physical stamina suited to a fast-paced retail environment, including the ability to handle extended working hours, operate safely around moving mechanical parts, and frequently stand or walk. The position also requires good communication and interpersonal skills, culinary knowledge including nutritional values and culinary math for recipe adjustments, and technical aptitude for kitchen equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in commercial food service and food preparation, a high school diploma or GED, and culinary certification or equivalent training.

Job Duties

  • Cuts, slices, dices, chops food for recipe preparation
