This role is a pivotal leadership position in the neurophysiology department within Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. It is a regular, full-time role with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position entails comprehensive oversight of staff and daily operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in neurophysiology services. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering strong partnerships across physicians, inpatient unit and department leaders, outpatient clinic managers, and the physician practice management team. The goal is to maintain efficient patient throughput, achieve high patient satisfaction, and ensure seamless day-to-day department operations.

The job holder will manage multiple locations operationally, responsibly overseeing fiscal management, performance metrics including staff retention and patient satisfaction, quality improvement, and staff development. A critical function of this position is to ensure that neurophysiology technicians maintain proficiency and provide excellent service, including EEG set-up and monitoring. The role requires collaborative work with medical staff and hospital personnel to guarantee the provision of high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective care. They will also partner with leadership teams managing outpatient and physician practices to address operational challenges that impact the neurosciences programs.

Other responsibilities include managing resource utilization, vendor performance, charge accuracy, and documentation. The position supports Medical Directors and service line leaders in performance improvement initiatives and program development. The job also involves facilitating technology integration, inpatient and outpatient facility planning, implementing grants, and serving as an operational representative for both existing and new program developments. The role demands strong leadership in team management, employee mentoring, workflow optimization, and encouraging continuous education and skill development among staff.

To excel in this position, the candidate must have at least five years of technical neurophysiology experience and a minimum of two years in a management or administrative role within a progressive healthcare setting. Preferred candidates hold a Master’s degree in business administration, health administration, or a related field, coupled with experience in service-related areas focusing on EEG quality improvement and service excellence. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Allied Health, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited neurodiagnostic program. Additional credentials such as R.EP.T., CLTM, IONM, EMG, EP, CNIM, R.NCS.T., or DABNM are essential or the willingness to obtain them within one year. Certification by the American Board of Electro-neurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) is required.

  • Possesses additional credentials in neurodiagnostics services such as REPT CLTM IONM EMG EP CNIM RNCS T DABNM or willingness to obtain within one year
  • Certification by the American Board of Electro neurodiagnostic Technologists ABRET
  • At least 5 years technical neurophysiology experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a management or administrative role in a progressive healthcare setting
  • Preferred Master's degree in business administration health administration or related field or equivalent experience
  • Preferred 2 to 5 years experience in service related areas focusing on EEG quality improvement and service excellence

Job Duties

  • Manages all operational aspects across multiple locations including fiscal responsibility performance metrics staff retention patient satisfaction quality performance improvement IT specialists for EEG and staff development including IT specialists for EEG
  • Ensure neurophysiology technicians are trained and or maintain required level of proficiency for set up monitoring etc
  • Establishes an operational plan for system integration and seamless care delivery for neurophysiology services
  • Monitors and manages access to neurophysiology services to ensure appropriate and timely access to diagnostic testing and other assessments
  • Manages the utilization of resources for effective and efficient services
  • Collaborates with medical staff and all levels of hospital personnel to assure high-quality efficient cost-effective care
  • Partners proactively with leadership teams of outpatient and physician practices for operational issues opportunities that impact hospital-based neurosciences efforts and programs
