Job Description
GDIT (General Dynamics Information Technology) is a leading global technology and professional services company dedicated to delivering innovative technology solutions and mission services for major agencies across the U.S. government, defense, and intelligence communities. Boasting a talented workforce of over 26,000 professionals, GDIT leverages its expertise to provide cutting-edge capabilities in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development. Operating in more than 50 countries worldwide, GDIT is committed to driving innovation and creating immediate value for its clients through technology solutions tailored to meet unique mission demands.
The company is currently seeking to fill a critical role within its IT Infrastructure and Operations category, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to national defense efforts by supporting and securing vital government computer systems and networks. The role is designed for a hands-on professional who is adept at organizing, installing, and maintaining complex government IT infrastructures including LANs, WANs, intranets, network segments, and other data communication systems. Responsibilities extend to the architectural design and analysis of network models and active participation in procurement decisions related to hardware and software upgrades, ensuring the organization’s technology infrastructure remains robust and up-to-date.
This position requires providing day-to-day technical support for Special Access Programs (SAPs) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies such as Headquarters Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. The candidate will engage in operations management and network system oversight to maintain the highest levels of security and performance. A deep understanding of network monitoring tools, security information and event management (SIEM) systems, and cybersecurity incident response is essential to successfully fulfilling the role.
Candidates will demonstrate proficiency with platforms including Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, virtualization technologies like Hyper-V, VMWare, and Xen Hypervisors, as well as enterprise networking, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems. Additional experience with Group Policy management, scripting, vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., ACAS, Nessus, SCAP), database security, and web server security technologies is highly valuable. Day-to-day activities will also include managing commercial and government-off-the-shelf products, executing maintenance checklists, and developing standardized operational procedures.
The candidate should have at least 1 year of related experience and preferably prior exposure to SAP environments. Educational qualifications range from a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline to an Associate’s degree with additional relevant experience or equivalent practical skills. Certification requirements include obtaining an IAT Level I certification such as Security+ CE or CCNA Security within six months of hire. The position requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with a willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.
This full-time role offers an anticipated salary range of $71,995 to $97,405, with actual compensation influenced by experience, location, and contractual factors. The work schedule involves periodic travel (approximately 10-25%) and adheres to U.S. citizenship requirements. GDIT fosters a secure and transparent hiring process employing advanced biometrics and AI for identity verification to maintain workforce integrity and protect against fraud.
By joining GDIT, professionals become part of a dynamic organization poised at the forefront of technology innovation supporting missions critical to national security. The company promotes a culture of diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities and protected veterans. Prospective applicants are encouraged to connect with GDIT’s Talent Community to explore career development opportunities and industry-leading projects.
