Known for its inclusive and supportive workplace, the company offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits to ensure employees' well-being and professional success.
The Network Engineer role at Booz Allen Hamilton is an exciting opportunity for skilled professionals to design, implement, and maintain critical network infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations. This position involves managing dedicated systems to ensure they remain functional, secure, and highly available through regular maintenance, updates, and patching. The Network Engineer will provide vital insights into network performance for customers using monitoring and performance management tools. They will identify problem areas and suggest improvements while utilizing the latest technologies and best practices to enhance overall infrastructure efficiency.
Individuals in this role are expected to demonstrate initiative and work independently while leading and mentoring junior team members to build core network competencies. This role requires strong technical abilities with virtual machine software-defined switching, network tuning, and operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS. Knowledge of planning and implementing Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures, access controls, and security policies is essential.
Furthermore, the position requires maintaining a high level of security, demonstrated by an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. The Network Engineer will actively participate in the development of new methodologies and standard operating procedures to support advanced and secure network operations. There is also a strong emphasis on continuous learning and modernization, encouraging the use of cloud technologies and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as AWS, Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform to automate and optimize network management.
Booz Allen Hamilton offers a competitive salary range for this position between $77,600 and $176,000 annually, based on factors such as experience, education, location, and specific contract requirements. Complementing this compensation, employees benefit from comprehensive health, life, disability, financial, and retirement programs, along with paid leave and programs supporting professional growth and work-life balance. This role is ideal for those committed to advancing their network engineering skills in a supportive, high-impact environment where they can contribute to national security and innovative technology solutions.
