Network Administrator - ONSITE (CURRENT SC Resident within EST Zone) - W2 ONLY

The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) is a key governmental agency dedicated to improving health and wellness across the state of South Carolina. This role is fully onsite in South Carolina requiring the candidate to be a current resident within the Eastern Time Zone and willing to relocate to South Carolina at their own expense before the start date. Employment type is typically contractual, with expected full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, and the contract includes strict adherence to the agency's confidentiality and security policies.

This position is for a Network Administrator who will work under the guidance of the Network Operations Center Manager to coordinate the deployment, operational support, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of the agency's critical enterprise network architecture. The role involves working closely with various IT groups including network, security, and server hosting teams to provide technical solutions, mitigate issues, and ensure seamless connectivity and authentication services throughout the enterprise. The candidate will be responsible for supporting key initiatives such as SD-WAN deployment, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) lifecycle management, secure authentication services and network connectivity on Windows-based and mobile platforms. Essential duties include the installation, upgrading, and maintenance of network equipment, including switches and wireless access points, as well as managing network documentation such as diagrams and coverage maps. Physical requirements include the ability to work on ladders and lift up to 40 pounds. The candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively support both technical and non-technical staff and provide updates and progress reports to project management. This role requires flexibility for travel to remote office locations across South Carolina and occasional extended work hours beyond the standard business day. The selected candidate will also ensure compliance with all State and agency IT security policies and standards.
