Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a comprehensive acute care provider located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The health system includes three hospitals: Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital - Interquest, collectively offering 712 beds and a wide range of medical services. Established in 1890, Penrose Hospital serves as the anchor facility within the system with 300 licensed beds and a focus on tertiary medical-surgical care, particularly in elective and outpatient services. It has become a major referral and treatment center in the region, known for its expertise in cancer care, cardiac care, emergency trauma care, and physical rehabilitation. Penrose-St. Francis holds the prestigious Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), reflecting its commitment to superior nursing quality and patient care. The organization is situated in a scenic region featuring over 300 days of sunshine annually, mild winters, and close proximity to outdoor recreational sites such as Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods, along with top ski resorts in Colorado, promoting an exceptional work-life balance for its staff.
As the Neonatal Manager Flight Operations at Penrose-St. Francis, you will hold a crucial leadership role within the dynamic aeromedical transport environment. This position requires overseeing the clinical and operational efficiency of all flight teams engaged in neonatal transport and emergency medical services (EMS). Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and quality care, while inspiring continuous improvement and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability across flight operations. You will be charged with optimizing resource allocation to maximize the impact of the air medical program.
Your daily responsibilities will include empowering and managing a dedicated team of Flight Registered Nurses (RNs) and ancillary staff through continual education, thorough clinical orientation, and professional development initiatives. You will take a leadership role in budget oversight, policy enforcement, and maintaining consistency and quality in clinical competencies and performance metrics across multiple bases. By designing and monitoring performance indicators and QI processes in collaboration with the Clinical Leadership Team and Medical Director, you will directly influence patient outcomes and service effectiveness.
Success in this role requires a proven background as a Neonatal Flight RN with advanced clinical expertise and deep knowledge of prehospital and critical care procedures. Exceptional leadership skills are essential to motivate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, as is experience in curriculum development, staff evaluation, and regulatory compliance within an aviation medical services context. The role offers up to $8,000 in relocation assistance depending on the candidate's location and provides a competitive pay range of $50.44 to $87.65 per hour, reflecting the advanced responsibilities involved. This is an extraordinary opportunity to lead an impactful, specialized EMS program within a well-respected medical system that values innovation and quality in patient care.
