The Neighbor Services Receptionist role is a vital position located within CTFB's Neighbor Programs and Services department, reporting directly to the Neighbor Services Manager. This position serves as the frontline representative and the first point of contact for individuals seeking food assistance, both in-person and via the helpline. The receptionist provides administrative support, ensures excellent customer service, and coordinates with various client programs across the organization. Key responsibilities include client intake for the Fresh Harvest Market, managing helpline inquiries, and providing information, screening, and referrals to appropriate services. The role demands working closely with diverse populations, supporting CTFB’s mission to nourish hungry people and lead the community fight against hunger.

Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues across departments such as Benefits and Enrollment Services, Workforce Training, Community Nutrition, Food Sourcing, and Logistics is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, effective communication, organizational skills, empathy, and a commitment to service. This position involves managing a high volume of calls and walk-ins, providing trauma-informed client services, performing data entry and documentation, and representing CTFB in various community settings. Working hours generally span Tuesday through Saturday with some flexibility required for peak times, disaster responses, and holidays. The job environment includes a typical office setting with occasional tasks performed in a warehouse or outdoors. Some travel within the 21-county service area is expected.
