This job opportunity is for the position of NDT Specialist located in Bellingham, Washington, or the surrounding areas, with a preference for local candidates or those willing to relocate. The role requires a technically proficient and multi-certified professional capable of conducting in-depth inspections and evaluations using various NDT methods such as RT (Radiographic Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), UT (Ultrasonic Testing), PMI (Positive Material Identification), or VT (Visual Testing). A valid TWIC card is also preferred for this position. The NDT Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring asset integrity by conducting tests, establishing proper examination techniques, applying established testing criteria, and evaluating results rigorously in line with ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and API (American Petroleum Institute) requirements. The role also demands strong client interaction skills for managing schedules, problem-solving, and personnel management.
The NDT Specialist will be responsible for reviewing asset documentation and operational data, completing physical site walkdowns for integrity assessments, preparing detailed project reports, and possibly instructing or supervising others. Candidates must have a comprehensive understanding of industry health and safety policies, be familiar with relevant NDT equipment and software, and exhibit a proactive approach to risk mitigation on client engagements. This position offers competitive compensation, with a pay range between $37.50 and $60.58 per hour depending on experience and certifications. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, supplemental insurance, a 401K plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
The working conditions involve outdoor environments with continuous physical effort, exposure to various elements, and some travel requirements. The physical demands include frequent lifting and carrying of weights up to 50 pounds, as well as mobility activities such as reaching, kneeling, crawling, bending, crouching, standing, walking, climbing, or driving. This role is vital to Acuren's mission of delivering reliable, high-quality asset inspection services that protect industrial infrastructure and contribute to overall safety and operational continuity.
