The Omni Louisville Hotel is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Leader to join their team in the Louisville area. This position offers the opportunity to become part of an industry-leading company renowned for its guest-focused approach and commitment to excellence. The role primarily focuses on hotel sales and revenue growth, with a strong emphasis on managing an assigned territory and key account relationships on both local and national levels. The ideal candidate is energetic, goal-oriented, and possesses a minimum of five years experience in selling complex hotel solutions to large market accounts. This includes selling hotel rooms, food and beverage services, meetings, catering, events, and convention-related services. The sales leader will work collaboratively with departments such as Catering, Sales, Convention Services, and Reservation Sales to maximize hotel revenue and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include developing guest relationships, negotiating contracts, managing the sales process from proposal to execution, and fostering productive interdepartmental communications. This role also involves mentoring and supporting less experienced sales staff while actively promoting the hotel's brand through industry associations and trade shows. The position demands a professional appearance, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends. Remote candidates are considered with the condition they can be available onsite for important events and site visits. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of hotel sales experience
  • Proven track record in managing large market hotel accounts
  • Strong negotiation and contract preparation skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Availability for local and interstate travel
  • Proficiency with computer and electronic communication tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to comply with hotel policies and legal regulations

Job Qualifications

  • College degree in hospitality or marketing preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar sales position preferred
  • Experience selling to the Southeast market preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods during work shifts
  • Capacity for repetitive motion including telephone and computer use
  • Ability to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 40 pounds without assistance

Job Duties

  • Plan and maintain regular communications with, and actively solicit additional business from, Hotel key accounts
  • Communicate and/or meet with parties interested in the Hotel's services and assess the parties' needs and feasibility
  • Prepare guest proposals with options for hotel services and products including rooms, events, F&B, meeting space, pricing, and dates
  • Negotiate, prepare, and review terms of contracts for hotel services under supervision of Director of Sales
  • Meet or exceed targets for prospecting sales opportunities, client meetings, and revenue streams
  • Execute and manage processes to reserve and confirm negotiated contracts including blocking of rooms and catering requirements
  • Assist Director of Sales to stimulate productivity of sales staff through guidance and support
  • Assist Director of Sales in budgeting and forecasting processes for the Hotel
  • Promote hotel visibility through involvement in industry associations and trade shows
  • Provide mentorship and professional development to less experienced sales employees
  • Support corporate programs to increase customer awareness of Omni Hotels benefits
  • Maintain high quality guest offerings in coordination with Convention Services
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance at assigned work locations
  • Interact positively and professionally with guests, key accounts, coworkers, and visitors
  • Use computer and electronic devices to communicate and prepare sales reports
  • Plan, prioritize, and implement sales strategies and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Complete assigned tasks timely as directed by management
  • Contribute to a safe working environment and comply with safety standards
  • Comply with Hotel and Corporate policies and all legal requirements
  • Attend and contribute to sales team and leadership meetings including occupancy and forecasting updates
  • Perform duties involving extensive phone and email communications and desk work
  • Travel locally and interstate for guest relationship development, trade shows, and meetings
  • Work primarily during weekday business hours with approval of management, including additional evening and weekend activities
  • Perform additional marketing or guest service assignments as directed
  • Occasionally lift, stand, bend, walk extensively as needed for events and property tours
  • Other duties as assigned by management
