Within this expansive entertainment ecosystem lies HOB Entertainment, a division dedicated to exceptional club venues nationwide. House of Blues (HOB) Venues are celebrated for their diverse live music genres, including Rock, Hip Hop, Country, Rock en Español, Blues, Jazz, Reggae, and Pop. Besides their musical offerings, HOB is acclaimed for a distinctive southern-style cuisine, a juke-joint inspired atmosphere, and the renowned World Famous Gospel Brunch. Since its inception on Thanksgiving Day in 1992—where it served its very first meal to local shelters—House of Blues has continuously upheld a profound commitment to community engagement through the International House of Blues Foundation, reinforcing its role as an influential cultural institution.

The role of Barback at House of Blues presents an exciting opportunity for passionate, motivated individuals who embody an entrepreneurial spirit. The Barback is integral to the efficiency and success of the bartending team, responsible for the maintenance, stocking, and cleanliness of the bar and ensuring all support functions run smoothly to enhance team productivity. This part-time or full-time position demands dedication to high standards in service, cleanliness, and adherence to safety protocols.

Primarily, the Barback maintains an operational bar environment by handling inventory replenishment, including stocking ice bins, liquor, beer, wine, and coolers as per venue specifications. The role also includes performing opening, running, and closing side duties to keep equipment and work areas clean and orderly, ensuring that all recyclable and trash materials are disposed of correctly following local guidelines. Barbacks must be knowledgeable about current menu items, alcohol service policies, and event-specific guidelines to assist in maintaining consistent service quality and compliance. Occasional assignments during special events require flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced, often loud and hectic live music environment.

This position requires physical stamina due to prolonged standing and the necessity to lift or move up to 25 pounds using proper techniques. Strong interpersonal communication skills and teamwork orientation are essential, alongside a deep respect for diversity across cultures, music genres, and art forms. Candidates must possess a Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or its equivalent and demonstrate a flexible schedule to accommodate late working hours.

The compensation for this position is approximately $16.90 per hour, with pay determined by market location, experience, qualifications, and skills. Live Nation Entertainment emphasizes equal employment opportunity and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in hiring practices, fostering a respectful and supportive workplace for all employees.
