The City of Wasilla is committed to providing high-quality cultural and educational experiences through its operation of these facilities. The museum offers a variety of exhibits, educational programs, and events aimed at enriching the community and enhancing visitor knowledge of the region's heritage.
This seasonal, part-time position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in public service, history, and community engagement. Candidates should be comfortable multitasking and managing various responsibilities that include handling point-of-sale transactions, maintaining visitor information, and light custodial work. Additionally, the Museum Assistant will contribute to marketing efforts, such as creating flyers, supporting the museum store, and distributing event advertisements throughout the community.
Successful candidates will gain valuable experience in museum operations, public engagement, and cultural heritage preservation. This position is ideal for students, retirees, or anyone seeking a seasonal role with community impact. The pay rate ranges from $15.42 to $20.50 per hour, reflecting the role’s responsibilities and skills required.
