The role of Banquet Bartender at The Henry Ford offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that plays a vital role in enhancing guest experiences during various banquet functions held throughout the day and evening. Banquet Bartenders at The Henry Ford are entrusted with responsibly serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring guest satisfaction while adhering firmly to legal and organizational policies. This role requires attentiveness to guest needs and the ability to maintain a professional, courteous demeanor throughout service. As a Banquet Bartender, you will be responsible for setting up the bar area with all necessary supplies, skillfully preparing and mixing drinks, checking identification to comply with legal drinking age requirements, and monitoring the consumption of alcoholic beverages to promote safety and comfort for all guests.
In addition to drink service, the Banquet Bartender contributes to overall event success by ensuring proper handling and care of banquet equipment, clean and orderly bar setup and teardown, and supporting an effective team environment. The ideal candidate for this position will be physically capable of handling repetitive lifting and standing requirements and will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires excellent communication and sound judgment skills. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver’s license
- Previous bartending experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to make good judgment calls
- Ability to stand and walk frequently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work in adverse conditions and weather extremes

Job Duties
- Sets up bar with all beverages, mixers, garnishes, polished glassware, napkins, and straws that are necessary for the event
- Transports and handles all banquet equipment properly and with care
- Checks IDs per the state and The Henry Ford policies
- Prepares cocktails, pours and mixes drinks quickly and accurately in a customer service-oriented manner
- Breaks down bar of supplies, cleans up bar area in event space of all banquet equipment including trash, glassware, and beer carts
- Wipes down bars and returns to proper storage area
- Contributes to overall effectiveness of team management of problems, issues, and opportunities
- Acts as a team player and provides expertise within the team and with other teams as appropriate
