Job Requirements
- Minimum of 8-10 years overall restaurant experience
- minimum of 3-5 years concurrent multi-unit management experience depending on zone size
- graduation from food service management or culinary program may substitute for experience
- proven leadership and team management skills
- ability to read, speak, and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- strong multitasking and delegation skills
- ability to work varied and rotating schedules including opening, peak, and closing shifts
- knowledge of HMSHost operational standards or willingness to learn
- understanding of safety and health regulations
- ability to make sound financial decisions and implement controls
- familiarity with technology and company programs
Job Qualifications
- Documented multi-unit management experience of at least three years with total restaurant experience of 8-10 years for small zones or five years for large zones
- graduation from a food service management or culinary program may substitute for some experience
- demonstrated team management, delegation, and issue resolution skills
- knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, service, quality, equipment, and operations standards or ability to learn quickly
- effective communication skills including reading and comprehending instructions and engaging with individuals
- ability to manage multiple priorities and work varied schedules
- familiarity with company tools such as MIV, Crunch Time, and Kronos
- working knowledge of brand standards, collective bargaining agreements, and lease agreements
Job Duties
- Ensures all general managers and staff prepare each restaurant for next day opening, holds GMs accountable for closing and opening checklist requirements
- schedules managers to ensure leadership presence during all hours and person-in-charge at every restaurant
- provides support, coaching, and encouragement to restaurant staff to achieve business goals
- holds GMs accountable for onboarding and offboarding including compliance with badging, orientation, on-the-job training and company processes
- monitors financial and operational data to track progress and align associates accordingly
- collaborates with senior leadership on operational issues, decisions, and strategy
- implements company recognition initiatives to motivate and recognize staff
- manages day-to-day activities of associates within assigned zone
- resolves customer and associate problems using judgment and discretion
- ensures maintenance and timely repair of restaurant equipment
- implements marketing programs and complies with promotional activities
- maintains in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and health standards, and holds GMs accountable for compliance
- trains managers and associates on wellness and COVID-19 protocols
