Job Description

Hawthorne is a distinguished multifamily management company, recognized as one of the top 50 largest in the nation, proudly rooted in the Southeastern United States. With an award-winning reputation, Hawthorne takes pride in its commitment to providing exceptional living experiences within its apartment communities. The company emphasizes a culture called "Live It," which reflects their dedication to service, connection, and exceeding expectations for residents and prospects alike. Driven by passionate, hardworking, and caring individuals, Hawthorne fosters an environment where employees' efforts truly matter and contribute meaningfully to the community.

The Leasing Consultant role at Hawthorne, also known as Leasing & Live It Specialists, is a pivotal position within the community. These individuals serve as the face of the community and ambassadors of the company’s signature Live It culture. This role centers on creating standout experiences and building meaningful connections with current and prospective residents. The Leasing Consultant is responsible for leading engaging apartment tours, responding to daily inquiries, and planning resident events, ensuring that everyone entering the community feels welcomed, supported, and excited to call Hawthorne home. This position requires a genuine commitment to outstanding customer service and a personable approach to both prospects and residents.

Leasing consultants at Hawthorne play a vital role in driving leasing success by converting leads to leases through relationship building and understanding resident needs in depth. They are tasked with facilitating leasing applications, verifications, and move-in paperwork accurately, contributing significantly to community occupancy and renewal goals. Additionally, they nurture resident relationships by coordinating and attending community engagement initiatives, responding empathetically to resident questions and concerns, and helping maintain a clean, welcoming environment throughout the community spaces.

In addition to fostering internal community engagement, Hawthorne Leasing Consultants assist in marketing the property through various channels like social media and community outreach. Staying informed on local market trends and competitor properties empowers them to represent the brand effectively and enhance community awareness. The company values a positive attitude, clear communication, customer-focus, persuasiveness, and a willingness to learn. These key qualities help Leasing Consultants to excel while embodying the core Live It values of kindness, community, and connection.

The work schedule is designed to support a 40-hour workweek with hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with one weekday off each week. Flexibility for evening and weekend shifts may be required for resident events or based on community needs. This role offers growth opportunities through Hawthorne’s Career Path Program, allowing employees to advance to positions such as Assistant Community Manager.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent. While one year of customer service, sales, or apartment leasing experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates should possess a valid driver's license, and certifications such as the Certified Apartment Leasing Professional Accreditation (CALP) are considered a plus.

Hawthorne offers a comprehensive Total Rewards Package that includes leasing-specific benefits like monthly leasing and renewal commissions and leasing incentive programs on top of hourly pay. The company is also dedicated to the professional development of its employees through continuous learning and career growth opportunities. Personal benefits provided include free dental insurance, comprehensive medical and vision plans, health and wellness incentives, a 401k retirement match program, paid time off including birthdays, paid sick leave, pet insurance plans, parental leave options, telehealth access, company-paid life insurance, and retirement planning.

Hawthorne is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive. Joining Hawthorne means becoming part of a vibrant, community-focused company where your contributions have a direct impact on the quality of life for residents and the success of the community.
