Job Description

Sherwin-Williams, a leading company in the paints and coatings industry, is committed to inspiring and improving the world by coloring and protecting what matters. Established as a reputable manufacturer and retailer of paints, coatings, and related products, Sherwin-Williams serves both wholesale and retail customers with innovative and high-quality solutions. The company places great emphasis on stability, growth, and momentum, offering a supportive work environment to help employees grow professionally and personally. With a strong focus on inclusivity, community involvement, and employee well-being, Sherwin-Williams promotes a culture where talents and passions are nurtured to achieve great results across its wide network of stores.

This particular role is for a Customer Service Specialist working part-time at Sherwin-Williams stores located within a 10-mile radius of Store #708556 at 4860 Center St, Tacoma, WA 98409. Starting pay for this position is $24.00 hourly. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple locations, emphasizing the importance of providing exceptional customer service to build and maintain trust with wholesale and retail customers. As an essential member of the store team, the Customer Service Specialist is responsible for understanding and responding to customer needs, answering questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommending appropriate solutions in both English and Spanish, if possible, as bilingual fluency is preferred.

In addition to sales, the role includes maintaining high visual and product quality standards within the store, processing sales transactions accurately, and meeting sales goals consistently on monthly, quarterly, and yearly bases. The position involves tasks such as tinting and mixing products to customer specifications, stocking shelves, setting up displays, assisting with deliveries as needed, and following inventory control procedures. Since this position involves contact with customers, cash handling, and access to valuable store merchandise and personal information, the company conducts criminal background checks to ensure the safety of employees, customers, and the broader community.

Sherwin-Williams values its employees and provides a comprehensive benefits package even for part-time regular employees not covered by collective bargaining agreements. Benefits include paid holidays, paid sick leave (with specific accrual rates for Washington and Seattle workers), paid military leave, paid bereavement leave, and paid vacation after the first year of employment. Health benefits such as prescription savings programs and virtual physician visits are also offered, along with retirement and savings benefits. Sherwin-Williams is an equal opportunity employer, promoting fair consideration regardless of race, gender, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic.

Candidates interested in this role will follow a multi-step hiring process that includes an online application, a digital interview completed at their convenience, and an in-store interview for top candidates. The company reinforces that applicants will never be asked for payments or sensitive personal financial information during recruitment. The Customer Service Specialist role is a great opportunity for individuals seeking a flexible part-time job with competitive pay, professional growth, and the chance to be part of a respected company dedicated to creating possibilities for employees and communities alike.
