Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred
  • cosmetology or demonstrator license where required by applicable state law
  • cosmetics artistry experience preferred
  • demonstrate passion and competency in sales, products, and service
  • ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • ability to work independently and in a team
  • ability to handle guest concerns positively and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Meet or exceed focused MAC, Clinique, and Estee Lauder brand sales and clientele goals
  • contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty including credit, retail shrink, and omni-channel sales
  • build the business by achieving sales targets, using all levers such as product services and data capture to build guest loyalty, recruit new guests, and grow guest return rate
  • share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests on the sales floor
  • provide a guest-friendly environment with personalized service, including greeting, engaging, offering samples, recommending complementary products or services, and informing guests of current promotions and events
  • handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously
  • maintain solid product knowledge of MAC, Clinique, and Estee Lauder brands and share with guests and team
  • perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience
  • book appointments and support in-store events to deliver an unrivaled guest experience
  • participate in promotions and marketing initiatives
  • use clientele system to obtain guest information and follow up to build loyalty
  • stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests
  • maintain prompt and regular attendance
  • contribute to an inclusive environment supporting teammates and guests
  • maintain strong relationships with brand partners through training and in-store events
  • address and resolve guest concerns following company standards
  • collaborate with managers and associates to grow business
  • attend education seminars and ongoing training to drive brand sales
  • ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards
  • model brand image through adherence to dress code and brand assets
  • maintain work areas by replenishing merchandise, signage, and testers
  • uphold cleanliness and operational standards throughout the store
  • participate in merchandise resets, planograms, inventory procedures, and shipment processing
  • protect company assets by following loss prevention practices
  • execute other operational tasks as directed
