Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT) is a well-established, locally-owned truckload carrier based in the Southwest United States. MVT is currently hiring for the position of Mule Driver in El Paso, Texas. This full-time role includes a night shift schedule, from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., working 4 days on and 4 days off with varying night shifts. The position offers a competitive wage of $15.00 per hour and is based within the Service Department. The Mule Driver is an essential team member responsible for the maintenance and preparation of tractors and trailers within the yard. This role requires cleanliness, operational safety, and precise handling of vehicles to ensure smooth yard functioning. Duties include detailed cleaning and inspection of trucks, maneuvering vehicles for optimal parking, coupling and uncoupling tractor-trailer units, fuel handling for yard mules, and assisting with trailer repairs.
Success in this position depends on responsiveness to management instructions, swift problem-solving abilities, and recognition as a reliable and supportive team member. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree
- Active Class A CDL
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to management directions
- Must be available to work night shift hours

Job Duties
- Ensure trailers are parked in designated areas
- Perform valet duties and park vehicles in open spots
- Manipulate vehicles to take advantage of all spaces
- Clean inside trailers if needed, confirming there is no loading equipment left behind
- Assist trailer shop with red-tagged trailers, convey them to shop for needed repairs
- Responsible for fueling of the yard mule
- Couple and uncouple tractor-trailer units and connect and disconnect brake lines as needed
- Perform safety check inspections of the mule truck
