Job Description
Cliff Castle Casino Hotel is a prestigious hospitality and entertainment destination located in Arizona, known for its exceptional service offerings, vibrant casino environment, and quality dining experiences. As a well-established entity in the gaming and hospitality industry, it attracts both local and visiting guests seeking an engaging and enjoyable stay. The casino hotel offers an array of amenities including gaming floors, multiple dining options, entertainment venues, and comfortable lodging accommodations. It prides itself on maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere that caters to a diverse clientele, combining modern facilities with outstanding customer service to ensure a memorable visit.
Within this dynamic environment, the Cliff Castle Casino Hotel is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join its culinary team. This role involves preparing a variety of food items in accordance with established recipes, while adhering strictly to food safety and cleanliness protocols. The Cook will play an essential part in the daily operations of the hotel's food and beverage services, working closely with the kitchen team including chefs and sous chefs to ensure timely and high-quality food preparation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting pre-opening and ongoing checks of back-line stations, hot boxes, and buffet setups, ensuring that food items are fresh, safely handled, and well presented. Coordination of line or buffet preparation and production is a key aspect of the role, requiring the Cook to manage and execute daily food prep activities effectively. Collaborating daily with the Sous Chef to review upcoming special events and plan accordingly is an important task that ensures the kitchen team meets production needs while maintaining standards.
This role demands meticulousness in opening and closing procedures, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safe food handling procedures to guarantee a hygienic work environment. Responsibilities also include restocking coolers, proper rotation of food items to prevent spoilage, and pre-shift preparations that ensure the kitchen operates smoothly throughout service periods. The Cook must be adaptable and willing to perform additional duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success and efficiency of the culinary operations.
The ideal candidate should possess at least one year of experience working as a cook in a professional food establishment and demonstrate good communication skills, organization, and the ability to follow recipes accurately. While a high school diploma or GED is preferred, the Cliff Castle Casino Hotel also offers opportunities such as internships or apprenticeships specifically for enrolled members of the Yavapai-Apache Nation, providing flexible pathways for career development within the culinary field.
Candidates must obtain or already have food handler and alcohol service certifications, be at least 18 years old, and be available to work all shifts including weekends and holidays. Eligibility to work in the United States, along with the ability to pass a drug test and background check required for an Arizona Gaming License, is mandatory. Above all, the Cook is expected to uphold the hotel’s policies and procedures while fostering an environment of exceptional guest service, striving to exceed guest expectations through courteous, attentive, and professional interaction.
