Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid nmls registration
- at least 3 years experience in residential mortgage origination
- strong communication and negotiation skills
- knowledge of mortgage loan processes and underwriting procedures
- ability to comply with federal and state regulations
- valid driver’s license for travel up to 20 percent
- commitment to ethical standards and customer service
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma required
- bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field preferred
- nmls registration required
- minimum 3 years experience in residential mortgage origination
- proven success in consistently closing and funding loans
- knowledge of mortgage loan origination processes, regulations, and underwriting
- effective presentation, verbal and written communication, and negotiation skills
- understanding of market competition, sales strategies, trends, and activity
- knowledge of federal and state real estate lending laws and regulations
Job Duties
- originate real estate loans from various sources including realtor business, contractors, referrals, and direct customers
- ensure originated loans are properly set up in the bank’s computer system and processed for underwriting submission
- identify financing opportunities and provide supporting sheets for listings and realtor or builder open houses
- attend realtor association and builder association meetings regularly
- participate in training sessions and sales meetings, both internal and external
- meet with clients at bank branch locations and attend closing signing appointments as needed
- promote homeownership through community outreach, including hosting first-time homebuyer classes and participating in non-profit events
- comply with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations
