Job Description

Texell Credit Union, nationally recognized as one of the BEST credit unions to work for by American Banker, is a trusted financial institution renowned for its commitment to member service and financial soundness. Established with the mission to improve the financial lives of its members, Texell upholds a culture that prioritizes people over profits, fostering an environment where employees are valued and empowered to make a positive impact. The credit union has earned numerous prestigious awards, including the Excellence in Lending Award from CUNA Mutual Group, the Desjardins Adult Financial Literacy Award from the Texas Credit Union League, and best credit union accolades from multiple local publications such as the Temple Daily Telegram and the Killeen Daily Herald. It also consistently achieves a five-star, superior rating for financial soundness from Bauer Financial, underpinning its stability and trustworthiness within the financial services industry.

Texell is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for mortgage professionals who are looking for stability and a rewarding career within a respected institution that offers competitive base pay alongside uncapped commission potential. The ideal candidate will be resilient, adaptable, and passionate about helping members achieve the dream of homeownership. As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Texell, you will be at the forefront of the residential mortgage origination process, utilizing your expertise to guide applicants through the complexities of loan products while delivering exceptional customer service. You will also play a key role in cross-selling other credit union products to enhance the financial wellbeing of members.

This position requires an individual who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment. Clear communication skills are essential, as the role involves working closely with applicants, realtors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth and efficient processing of loans. Texell encourages building professional partnerships within the community since these relationships benefit the credit union and help reinforce its position as a community-focused financial institution. The successful candidate will enjoy a supportive team culture that values collaboration over competition, enabling you to excel while making a meaningful contribution to the community.

Texell offers more than just a job; it presents a career with an exceptional benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan with a dollar-for-dollar match up to six percent, and paid vacation and sick leave, ensuring a work-life balance that supports your long-term success. The credit union also hosts engaging company events such as an annual awards banquet, employee family day, and festive celebrations like the 4th of July Fiesta. Community service is a fundamental part of Texell’s identity, with regular volunteer opportunities through its Texell Serves program, including food pantry distributions, blood drives, and donation campaigns.

Joining Texell as a Mortgage Loan Officer means becoming part of a reputable institution recognized both for its financial stability and its employee-friendly culture. If you are looking for a stable company with competitive compensation, uncapped commissions, and a mission-driven work environment, Texell offers the perfect place to grow and thrive in your mortgage lending career.
