The Mortgage Banker Assistant position in the Fredericksburg, Virginia office is an integral role aimed at supporting Mortgage Bankers by managing client documents, maintaining effective communication with borrowers, and handling administrative and marketing tasks. This full-time role involves daily borrower contact to collect necessary processing items, organizing new loan files, and coordinating critical compliance and post-closing activities. The assistant also facilitates marketing efforts, helps maintain the Mortgage Bankers database, plans industry events, and nurtures relationships with referral partners. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of mortgage industry experience, who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills. Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in the mortgage industry as a loan officer assistant or processor preferred
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office suites including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • professionalism and effective interpersonal skills
  • organizational skills with attention to detail
  • ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • willingness to collaborate with diverse staff levels

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in the mortgage industry as a loan officer assistant or processor preferred
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office suites including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • good verbal and written skills
  • strong social media skills
  • database management capabilities
  • professionalism and strong communication skills both in person and via phone/email
  • effective communication with mortgage bankers and all support teams
  • extremely organized and detailed
  • ability to prioritize tasks
  • capability to work with all levels and varying positions of staff

Job Duties

  • Daily contact with borrowers to collect items required for processing
  • organizing client documents for new loan files and sending to New Loan department
  • sending requests for appraisals and title work
  • correcting any compliance items as needed and sending them to compliance to be cleared
  • performing post-closing tasks including preparing and sending letters to listing and selling agents, inputting agents into TE and Weekly Email list, sending post-closing emails and setting up clients for client connect cards
  • ordering office supplies and keeping up with office tasks
  • researching common client and agent questions about the mortgage industry
  • assisting with marketing endeavors including pop-bys and client communication
  • serving as the gatekeeper to the Mortgage Bankers database and regularly updating it with new client information
  • planning and coordinating events and strategies with Mortgage Bankers
  • requesting marketing materials as needed for agents
  • developing and growing relationships with referral partners
  • creating unique customer appreciation marketing campaigns
  • performing other duties as assigned
