As a Food Service Worker at Aramark, you will play an essential role in supporting food preparation and service operations. This position involves assisting management with meal preparation and maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records. You will uphold high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices, ensuring that all meals served meet both company and regulatory standards. Collaboration with the manager to complete daily reports and verify transactions is vital to maintaining smooth operations within the kitchen.

In this role, your duties will encompass the preparation of quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu, understanding the components and inclusiveness of each meal served, and ensuring proper storage of food in a sanitary and accurate manner. Serving food according to established meal schedules and department policies is a key responsibility, alongside the proper use and care of kitchen equipment, with an emphasis on safety when handling tools such as knives.

You will assist in coordinating major cleaning tasks, including cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking/serving equipment, while consistently adhering to food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage. Maintaining a clean and organized work and storage area is critical to the role, as is following uniform policies and using personal protective equipment as necessary.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
