The Mold Specialist position based in Omaha, NE, is a key role contributing to the company’s ongoing growth and operational success. This full-time role entails setting up, operating, and processing high-speed injection molding machines and robots to efficiently produce high-quality parts. By adjusting machine settings according to specifications, the specialist ensures that products meet or exceed quality standards. The Mold Specialist is also responsible for maintaining quality control, minimizing scrap, and ensuring machine efficiencies in their designated area.
This role is integral to supporting Airlite's commitment to operational excellence, providing front-line troubleshooting, and ensuring adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. The position requires a hands-on approach to managing production schedules, quality inspections, and equipment maintenance documentation. Job Requirements
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting using processing skills is preferred

- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues

Job Duties
- Perform machine start-up and shut down to required procedures
- Perform process troubleshooting to ensure part conformity and quality
- Evaluate product acceptability after completion of machine adjustments and/or color changes
- Review production schedule, make color, material and label changes during shift
- Review and perform floor inspection and diameter size check
- report and follow up on items needing technical corrections
- Perform quality inspections and document product quality and color shades to ensure product is within specifications
- Communicate with quality auditors and/or Supervisors regarding questionable product and make timely adjustments
- Monitor and continually work toward reducing scrap on targeted machines
- Monitor cycle times to required procedures
- Maintain safety and housekeeping expectations, report potential machine or work hazards, respond immediately to emergency machine problems, and ensure the safety of co-workers within designated work area
- Collaborate with team members on new machines, mold, materials, processes and procedures
- Ensure effective transfer of information across shifts
- Prepare maintenance work orders and ensure compliance with Preventative Maintenance Programs
- Maintain accurate computer logs to include documenting adjustments, resolutions and support requested
- Maintain company attendance standards
- Report food safety concerns to management
- Other duties as assigned
