The role of Mold Remediation Technician at Rainbow Restoration is vital within the restoration team. This position focuses on mold remediation, containment setup, demolition, cleaning, and restoration services for a variety of properties. Job Requirements

  • previous mold remediation and/or restoration experience preferred

  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • comfortable working in fast-paced and emergency response environments
  • valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • ability to pass a drug test and extensive background screening
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • comfortable standing, walking, climbing, bending, working at elevated heights, and working in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics while wearing PPE
  • comfortable working around demolition debris, moisture-damaged materials, and varying environmental conditions
  • ability to work overtime, participate in on-call rotations, and travel statewide as needed
  • IICRC certifications such as WRT or AMRT are a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • perform mold inspections, assessments, and remediation services on residential and commercial properties
  • develop and implement mold remediation plans according to IICRC standards and company procedures
  • set up containment areas and establish proper engineering controls for remediation projects
  • remove, clean, and dispose of mold-contaminated materials safely and efficiently
  • utilize industry-standard equipment and remediation techniques for mold removal and structural cleaning
  • perform HEPA vacuuming, antimicrobial treatments, air scrubbing, and detailed cleaning procedures
  • operate restoration and remediation equipment including HEPA filtration devices, negative air machines, dehumidifiers, and moisture detection tools
  • work with power tools and perform demolition as needed throughout remediation projects
  • respond to water, mold, and other restoration-related losses according to company procedures and IICRC standards
  • establish and maintain schedules to ensure services are completed efficiently and on time
  • communicate professionally with customers regarding scope of work, expectations, timelines, and necessary documentation
  • maintain accurate job documentation including notes, sketches, photos, moisture readings, and equipment counts
  • ensure all job sites remain clean, safe, organized, and compliant with OSHA standards and PPE requirements
  • maintain company vehicles, tools, and remediation equipment to ensure operational readiness
  • participate in emergency on-call rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands require
  • travel throughout state with potential overnight stays when needed to support operations
  • cross-train in related restoration services including water mitigation, contents cleaning, carpet cleaning, and reconstruction support
  • perform additional operational duties and emergency response tasks as assigned
