The position of Customer Service and Monitoring Officer is integral to the daily operations of the City’s off-street parking facilities. The position entails direct responsibility for customer service, revenue collection, operational monitoring, and maintenance support, all dedicated toward seamless facility functioning and positive patron experiences. The role involves handling monetary transactions, balancing cash receipts, assisting customers with inquiries and directions, and ensuring compliance with parking rules and regulations. Additionally, successful candidates will perform hourly facility rounds, monitoring security cameras, operating communication devices, and conducting basic equipment repairs to maintain functionality within the garages. The position requires customer interaction skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to respond promptly to operational needs, including issuing parking tickets and supporting related administrative tasks. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or ged
- one year of cashier, customer service, public relations, or monitoring (security) experience
- valid driver's license preferred
- background investigation including supervised drug screen
- post offer/pre-employment medical screen
- verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment

Job Duties
- collects revenue from daily and monthly customers
- posts monthly payments to electronic and hard copy files
- balances daily work
- prepares garage deposit at the end of shift
- maintains cash funds and visits the bank for change
- answers telephone
- assists customers with questions and directions
- assists vehicle maintenance in the issuance of loaner vehicles
- signs keys in and out as assigned
- assists customers and receives dock fees for boats docked on River Street
- issues and or delivers parking stamps for the ride, park, and shop program
- conducts hourly rounds in city parking structures
- checks stairwells and garage perimeter
- maintains an activity log during rounds
- observes and monitors video recorders
- operates cash register
- portable radio
- various office equipment
- and motorized vehicles
- performs minor repairs to gate equipment
- resets gate arm
- replaces gate arm
- replaces tickets in ticket machine
- picks up bank deposits
- collects leave sheets
- overtime sheets
- and timecards
- opens and closes garages at appropriate times
- writes parking tickets in garage and lot areas
- assists with carriage spill cleanup
- contacts carriage companies
- records all required information
- distributes office and maintenance supplies
- garage payments
- and payroll to other personnel as assigned
- assists in training new personnel as assigned
- performs other related duties as assigned
