Job Description

Iron Heart Canning is a recognized leader in the mobile beverage canning industry, renowned for its high-quality service and commitment to operational excellence. Operating warehouses in 27 states across the U.S., Iron Heart provides on-site canning support to breweries, wineries, and other beverage manufacturers. As a pioneer in mobile canning solutions, the company prides itself on delivering reliable and efficient packaging services to an expanding network of clients in the beverage production sector. With a strong focus on quality, customer satisfaction, and innovation, Iron Heart Canning has established itself as the quality leader in this niche, setting rigorous standards that place it ahead of the competition.

This full-time role is for a Packaging Technician who will play a critical role in ensuring that Iron Heart’s mobile canning operations run smoothly and meet the highest standards. The Packaging Technician is responsible for setting up and breaking down canning equipment, overseeing Clean-In-Place procedures that align with company standards, and operating and maintaining canning lines. The position offers a starting pay of $20 per hour, coupled with a competitive benefits package that includes paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), and medical, dental, and vision insurance. Iron Heart Canning emphasizes career growth and skill development, providing on-site training and ongoing guidance to help employees excel.

As a Packaging Technician, you will be involved in transporting and setting up heavy equipment, performing chemical mixing and sanitation procedures, and troubleshooting machinery such as labelers and date coders. Quality control is a continuous priority, requiring thorough and consistent checks to maintain product and process standards. Keeping equipment clean and operational according to Iron Heart's standards is essential. You will work collaboratively with fellow technicians and brewery staff, ensuring seamless communication and teamwork during canning runs. The role demands physical stamina, as the work involves moving heavy pallets and machinery, standing for extended shifts of 8 to 12 hours, and adhering to mandatory federal and state lunch break laws. A flexible schedule is necessary, with long hours and overnight stays common depending on brewery schedules.

Iron Heart offers a clear and incentivized career path for Packaging Technicians who demonstrate their skills through exams and ongoing learning. After passing onboarding, technicians can progress through various levels including Tech II, Advanced, and Pro Tech, each providing pay increases and title promotions. This approach fosters growth, independence, and recognition within the company.

In summary, this role is ideal for hardworking individuals with mechanical aptitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Experience in craft brewing or beverage manufacturing is a plus but not mandatory. Iron Heart values quick learners who are motivated to grow their expertise in a dynamic, innovative company that is at the forefront of mobile canning technology. If you want a challenging yet rewarding career in a growing industry with comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities, the Packaging Technician position at Iron Heart Canning is a strong fit.
