Job Description

Beacon Specialized Living Services is a nationally recognized behavioral health company backed by private equity, dedicated to providing residential-based care and support to children and adults facing Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Severe Mental Illness, Autism, and complex high-acuity behaviors. The organization is firmly committed to compliance with all applicable policies, accreditation standards, state and federal licensing requirements, and HCBS guidelines, ensuring the highest quality of care for those they serve. Beacon operates within a framework of collaboration with Community Mental Health Agencies and other regulatory agencies, affirming its leadership in behavioral healthcare.

Beacon embodies a culture driven by its core "I CARE" values - Integrity, Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence. These principles underscore every interaction within the organization and inform both policy and practice. Employees at Beacon are expected to align closely with these values and the company’s mission, fostering an environment where individuals served receive dignity, respect, and quality support suited to their unique needs.

The role of a Home Manager at Beacon is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned residential homes. This leadership position demands a blend of managerial, operational, clinical, and human resource skills directed towards ensuring that all Beacon homes operate efficiently and meet or exceed established clinical, budgetary, and regulatory goals. A Home Manager not only supervises and supports Direct Support Professionals but also ensures the home environment is safe, compliant, and conducive to the highest quality care.

Responsibilities in this role include enforcing company and regulatory compliance, managing home budgets and payroll, coordinating with clinical teams for quality care delivery, and maintaining strong, positive relationships with referral sources and regulatory bodies. The role also includes maintaining the physical environment of the home, directing repairs and maintenance, ensuring proper staffing levels, and facilitating staff training and performance evaluations. Effective communication is vital, as the Home Manager reports regularly to direct supervisors and coordinates with various Beacon leadership teams to improve service delivery.

Home Managers also manage on-call responsibilities and contribute to the strategic oversight of the home’s census and admissions processes. They play a key role in HR functions such as interviewing, staff retention, disciplinary actions, and fostering a supportive team environment.

Additionally, the role requires attention to clinical outcomes and the personal development of individuals served, endorsing trauma-informed care practices to support their social, emotional, and physical health. The Home Manager is responsible for ensuring that all care documentation, incident reporting, and compliance requirements are met meticulously and timely.

In this demanding yet rewarding position, the Home Manager embodies Beacon’s commitment to quality assurance, safety, and professional conduct. The physical environment requires an individual capable of managing diverse and physically engaging tasks, including lifting, transferring, and supervising individuals with challenging behaviors. Work often involves exposure to varying environmental conditions and requires a proactive, decisive, and empathetic leader dedicated to Beacon’s mission and core values.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a background in human services or healthcare leadership to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with significant behavioral and developmental needs. The Home Manager position offers a dynamic work environment with the chance to lead a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional care and support in residential settings.
