Job Description

Renaissance Hotels is a distinguished brand under Marriott International, known for its unique approach to hospitality that immerses guests in the culture and spirit of the neighborhoods they visit. Unlike traditional hotels, Renaissance Hotels encourage guests to explore, discover, and experience the unexpected during their travels, whether for business or leisure. This brand focuses on creating memorable and authentic experiences, helping guests bring back stories that enrich their lives. By joining Renaissance Hotels, you become part of a global portfolio of respected brands and a diverse team that values culture, creativity, and adventure. The company is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every associate’s unique background is celebrated and respected, enabling a dynamic and supportive workplace culture. This role is a full-time position within the food and beverage sector, specifically focused on bar and lounge operations, offering a competitive salary in line with industry standards and Marriott International policies.

The Bar/Lounge Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing daily shift operations and staff supervision within the bar and lounge areas. As a Bar/Lounge Manager at Renaissance Hotels, you will play a crucial part in promoting the lounge, developing menus, maintaining high operational and service standards, and managing the property’s liquor inventories and controls. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring guest satisfaction and employee engagement, all while maintaining adherence to financial budgets. This role demands a proactive approach to training and development, as you will determine staff needs and implement training plans that elevate service quality and operational efficiency. You will strengthen the culinary and food and beverage teams by providing assistance when needed across various outlets.

In addition to operational management, you will ensure rigorous compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding liquor service and control, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to legal and ethical standards. Your oversight will include controlling beverage costs through inventory and portion control, analyzing sales mixes, and participating in budget management to meet or exceed financial objectives. On the team leadership front, you will train staff on liquor policies, manage staffing to optimize guest service and financial outcomes, and foster clear communication and understanding among employees about performance expectations.

Customer service excellence is a cornerstone of the role. You will engage directly with guests for feedback, handle complaints effectively, and empower your team to deliver outstanding guest experiences. Continuous improvement and guest satisfaction will be prioritized through regular feedback and coaching sessions. Human resource duties include supporting orientation and training programs for new hires and assisting with corrective action plans when necessary. Through these responsibilities, you contribute to a culture of excellence, accountability, and growth.

Renaissance Hotels encourages spontaneous explorers who are passionate about travel and storytelling to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to do your best work, begin your purpose, belong to a global team, and become the best version of yourself in an environment that respects individuality and promotes career development.
