Currently, Pier Sixty-Six Resort is seeking a skilled and experienced Mixologist for its signature high-end restaurant bar, Calusso. This role is pivotal in delivering superior guest service in a dynamic and high-volume setting. Reporting directly to the outlet General Manager, the mixologist will be responsible for crafting all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, engaging with guests to offer personalized drink recommendations, and ensuring the bar area upholds the high standards expected at a luxury resort. This position demands a passion for mixology, attention to detail, and a keen ability to create an exceptional guest experience.

The Mixologist role at Pier Sixty-Six requires expertise in classic cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers, alongside maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar. Responsibilities also include overseeing the accurate handling of all transactions using a point-of-sale system, managing inventory in cooperation with supervisors, and adhering strictly to drink recipes and resort policies. The role also involves collaboration with the kitchen to enhance guest satisfaction and ensure seamless service delivery. The ideal candidate will hold relevant certifications, including TIPS and Food Handler cards, and embody professional appearance and behavior standards aligned with the resort's values.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED recommend
  • Some college experience or degree recommended
  • Must be TIPS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire
  • Must have a current Food Handlers card
  • Previous bartending experience in a professional setting is preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated individual
  • Sommelier certification preferred
  • Must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
  • Must have effective communication skills
  • Ability to implement and uphold service standards
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignment
  • Ability to interact with all associates and guests of the resort

Job Duties

  • Preparing all alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • Assessing bar customer needs and preferences and be able to make personalized recommendations
  • Stock and maintain bar area to resort and health department standards
  • Provide an exceptional and memorable guest experience
  • Participate in ongoing training for professional development
  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests sitting at the bar
  • Set up bar according to Pier Sixty-Six five-star standards
