Chihuly Garden and Glass is a renowned cultural destination located in Seattle, Washington, dedicated to showcasing the unique and vibrant glass artwork of world-famous artist Dale Chihuly. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bartender to join our food and beverage team. This full-time, hourly position plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience that exceeds expectations. The Bartender position demands a deep knowledge of beverages, including wine, spirits, and food pairings, along with expertise in mixology and guest interaction skills. Employees are expected to maintain the highest standards of service by adhering strictly to the organization's service protocols, steps of service, and timing guidelines.
The Bartender will be responsible for the preparation, merchandising, and presentation of drinks as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all bar areas. Duties include set-up of mobile bars, preparing garnishes and syrups, stocking supplies, and managing guest service areas. The role requires someone who can work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive and courteous attitude towards guests and teammates. The ability to perform under pressure, collaborate within a team, and deliver excellent service recovery when needed is essential.
This position requires a minimum of three years of bartending experience in a full-service environment, with extensive knowledge of beverage offerings and food pairings to enhance guest experiences. Employees must possess valid Washington State Alcohol Service and Food Handler permits and demonstrate excellent communication and personal grooming skills. Physical stamina is necessary as the job entails standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds throughout shifts typically lasting 6-8 hours.
The hourly rate for this position is $21.30 plus tips. Job Requirements
- Must have a minimum of three-year bartending experience in a high volume, full-service environment
- Must have extensive knowledge of food and beverage including wine and food pairing and suggestive selling techniques
- Must be able to pass food and beverage questionnaires at 90 percent accuracy
- Must have excellent grooming and communication skills
- Must have a valid Washington State Class 12 or Class 13 Alcohol Service Permit and a valid Washington State Food Handler's Permit
- Must be able to walk, stand, reach, and lift 30 to 50 lbs throughout entire shift
- Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs over one shoulder using large oval tray
- Must be able to work a typical shift of approximately 6-8 hours
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Follow steps of service and timing guidelines
- Maintain proper mixologist etiquette and a positive, courteous attitude
- Exhibit complete knowledge of food and beverage offerings
- Engage guests and uphold merchandising, excellence, proficiency, and teamwork standards
- Prepare garnishes, syrups, tinctures, and batches
- Set up and operate mobile bars including stocking supplies and glassware
- Clean, organize, and maintain storage and guest areas
- Serve food and beverages at proper temperature with correct presentation
- Deliver exceptional guest satisfaction throughout service
- Perform side work and maintain cleanliness during shifts
- Assist servers and team members with service tasks
- Provide service recovery when needed
- Complete all assigned closing duties
- Check out with manager before clocking out
