Job Description

Hilton Fairfax is a distinguished hotel located in the serene and tree-lined Fair Lakes neighborhood of Northern Virginia. Positioned conveniently within half a mile of numerous retail and dining options, this hotel provides an ideal blend of comfort, convenience, and hospitality. Featuring 316 well-appointed guest rooms, Hilton Fairfax caters to a wide range of guests from business travelers to vacationers. The hotel boasts nine bespoke meeting rooms and over 10,000 square feet of versatile event spaces, making it a prime destination for conferences, weddings, and various social occasions. In addition to its superior accommodations, Hilton Fairfax features the Nova Grill, a restaurant situated in the hotel lobby that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Nova Grill offers traditional comfort dishes that creatively blend Virginia and Mid-Atlantic culinary influences, providing guests with a unique and satisfying dining experience.

The Hilton Fairfax is currently seeking an experienced Mixologist/Bartender to join its vibrant restaurant team. This full-time role involves serving beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction. The bartender will prepare beverages for servers to supply to guests and also handle cashier responsibilities within the lounge. A thorough familiarity with the restaurant menu and offerings is essential, as the Mixologist/Bartender must prepare drinks accurately and respond knowledgeably to guest inquiries. The hourly rate for this position is $12 per hour plus tips. This role requires knowledge of all pertinent state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, especially those related to serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests. To be eligible, candidates must hold a current Food Handler Card or be able to obtain certification promptly. A solid understanding of beverage preparation and service, as well as basic mathematical skills necessary for operating a cash register and managing cash transactions, is vital. Good English writing skills for completing requisitions and vouchers are necessary along with manual dexterity to perform tasks such as using a knife for garnishing, handling glassware and bottles, scooping ice, mixing drinks, and retrieving stock items. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting professionally with hotel guests and team members, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.
