Job Description
SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is a prominent family-owned and values-driven company specializing in the ready mix concrete industry. Established in 1999 with a single plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, SRM Concrete has expanded impressively to over 600 locations nationwide. This growth is a testament to the company's unwavering commitment to quality, integrity, and superior service. The company prides itself on serving customers, communities, and team members with excellence in every aspect of the business. Known for its reliable production and delivery of ready-mix concrete, SRM Concrete stands as a national leader in the construction materials sector, helping build infrastructure and commercial as well as residential developments across the country.
SRM Concrete is currently seeking skilled Mixer Operators, also known as Ready Mix Truck Drivers, CDL Mixer Drivers, or Concrete Mixer Operators, to join their expanding team. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals holding a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) who are safety-conscious, service-oriented, and motivated to work hard. Mixer Operators at SRM Concrete are pivotal to the company's mission as they ensure the timely and professional delivery of high-quality concrete to a variety of job sites, including both commercial and residential projects. One of the attractive features of this position is that drivers are home daily, allowing for a work-life balance that is often hard to find in the trucking industry.
The role of a Mixer Operator at SRM Concrete involves multiple critical responsibilities. Operators are expected to skillfully operate concrete mixer trucks in adherence to all safety protocols while maintaining the quality and specifications of the concrete mix. In addition to driving, they perform mixing and loading tasks, conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and carry out routine maintenance checks to ensure the truck's safety and compliance with regulations. Customer service is a fundamental part of this role as operators act as the face of SRM at various job sites, always representing the company with professionalism, friendliness, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
Safety is paramount at SRM Concrete, with Mixer Operators adhering strictly to DOT, OSHA, and company safety protocols to protect themselves, their co-workers, and the public. The role requires physical stamina as operators must be able to lift or carry heavy loads, climb ladders or stairs, and work in various weather conditions. Communication and teamwork are vital since operators coordinate closely with dispatch and plant teams to ensure efficient scheduling and routing of deliveries. Additionally, these professionals may assist with general plant or yard duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to support overall operations.
At SRM Concrete, the company culture is built on hard work, respect, and collaboration. Employees are acknowledged for their contributions and operate in a dependable and straightforward environment where every team member's role is valued. This position offers competitive pay with overtime after eight hours, eligibility for bonuses and annual raises, and a range of exceptional benefits including low-cost medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance. Paid holidays, paid time off, vacation, 401(k) plans with a weekly match, as well as family days contribute to a supportive and rewarding work environment.
In summary, joining SRM Concrete as a Mixer Operator means becoming part of a respected and growing company dedicated not only to delivering quality concrete but also fostering a positive and inclusive work culture. This is a career opportunity for dedicated CDL drivers seeking consistent local routes, no Sunday work, and a chance to grow professionally within a rapidly expanding enterprise. If you are motivated, reliable, and ready to play a key role in building America’s future, SRM Concrete invites you to become a valued member of their team and help continue their legacy of exceptional service and quality delivery.
