Job Description
SRM Concrete, also known as Smyrna Ready Mix, is a family-owned and values-driven leader in the ready mix concrete industry. Established in 1999 in Smyrna, Tennessee, the company has expanded significantly, now operating over 600 locations nationwide. SRM Concrete is recognized for its commitment to quality, integrity, and service, delivering excellence in every load, every day. The company serves a wide range of customers including commercial and residential construction sites and prides itself on its strong community ties and dedication to employee and customer satisfaction. SRM Concrete emphasizes a culture of hard work, respect, teamwork, and doing what is right both on the job and within the community, creating a dependable and supportive environment where every team member matters.
The role of Mixer Operator at SRM Concrete is crucial as these operators are responsible for safely transporting and delivering ready mix concrete to various job sites. Whether holding a Class A or Class B CDL, Mixer Operators deliver quality concrete while being the face of the company at customer locations. Service is paramount in this position as operators must represent SRM Concrete with professionalism and care, ensuring timely, accurate deliveries and excellent customer service. Duties include operating concrete mixer trucks, loading and mixing materials to specific quality standards, performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, and following strict safety protocols set by DOT, OSHA, and company guidelines to ensure the safety of the operator, coworkers, and the public.
This position requires physical capability to lift heavy materials, climb ladders or stairs, and work under various weather conditions. Operators must also coordinate schedules with dispatch and plant teams, maintain accurate delivery and vehicle records, and may assist with general plant or yard duties. SRM Concrete values candidates who demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a positive, proactive attitude. While previous experience as a Mixer Operator or in construction delivery is advantageous, motivated newcomers are encouraged to apply and grow within the company.
Working at SRM Concrete offers consistent local routes with no Sunday work, allowing operators to be home daily and enjoy a balanced work-life schedule. The company supports career advancement within a rapidly expanding business. Compensation includes hourly pay with overtime, eligibility for bonuses, annual raises, and comprehensive benefits. The benefit package covers low-cost medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, 401k with weekly matching contributions, family days, and more.
SRM Concrete presents an excellent opportunity to join a reputable and growing company that values each employee’s contribution to building America's future. Dedicated Mixer Operators at SRM Concrete are not just drivers; they are essential team members who embody the company’s mission to serve customers, communities, and teammates with excellence every day. If you are a safety-focused, service-oriented professional ready to deliver outstanding customer service and contribute to a trusted leader in the ready mix concrete industry, this role is your chance to build a fulfilling career and make a meaningful impact.
